Monroe County Friends of Animals’ Thrift Store is a major source of revenue supporting our mission.
Located at 3949 Highway 411 in Madisonville, TN 37354 (across from Kentucky Fried Chicken) our Thrift Shop is the perfect place for your shopping needs. (Map) If you haven’t been at the store in a while, you might be missing out on some tremendous bargains.
The store hours are Wednesday, Thursday & Saturday from 10am to 4pm,
Friday from 10am to 7pm.
Shopping
New merchandise arrives daily and is priced to move. Clothing, shoes, furniture, kitchenware, bedding, appliances, books – we’ve got it all. Stop by soon to make sure you get the choice of the best buys. All proceeds go to help the homeless animals of Monroe County. These proceeds help cover medications, medical procedures and much more.
Donations
Donations of items are greatly appreciated and are accepted Wednesday-Saturday from 10am – 1pm. Your donations are tax deductible. If you need more information or need to discuss your donation, please call the store at 423-420-3423.
Volunteer
We’re always looking for volunteers to help at the store. If you have time, we’d love to have you as part of our “Thrifty Team”. Stop in sometime and meet our all-volunteer staff. Learn why they contribute their time and energy to assure better lives for the homeless cats and dogs in our community.
Thrift Store Give-Back Programs
Items we can’t sell in the store or that have been there past 60 days are given new homes. We try hard to not put items in the dumpsters.
*Metals: items that have not sold, that are broken or we cannot sell are taken to recycling & the money is returned to the store.
*School supplies: items that have been there 60+ days or that cannot be sold in the store go into a teachers bin. There are a few teachers that pick up.
*Blessing Box: donations of soaps/shampoos/lotions etc… (that are not sealed) go into the blessing box. There are various boxes around Monroe County that will take these items.
*Coats & blankets: We work with several churches and a program for the homeless Vets. When the Eastbourne Animal Center puts us on hold for blankets we give them to the homeless. These are blankets & coats that we can’t sell in the store.
*Teen Challenge: Teen Challenge is an organization that works with many charities, they take almost everything; we pass on the items that we can’t sell & the items that have been in the store 60+ days.
